Barooga Botanical Gardens
The Barooga Community Botanical Gardens were established in 1992 and opened in November 1993. The gardens cover an area of approximately 6 acres of manicured gardens, trees and walkways.
The Gardens contain a children's playground, three covered barbecue areas and toilets. The gardens are a delight to visit and spend time with friends and family and are regularly used for celebrations and wedding functions.
Points of interest are:
- Entrance Palm Trees - Two large 50 year old palm trees were transplanted from Seppelts' vineyards to the main entrance of the gardens in Nangunia St.

- Trees include a Lone Pine (a pine planted as a memorial to the Australian and New Zealand soldiers who fought in Gallipoli), Wollemi Pine (one of the world oldest and rarest trees) and Kauri Pine (a coniferous tree native to Eastern Queensland)
Review:
Smallish but lovely gardens with the added benefit of having a nice playground, picnic tables, toilets and BBQs. Near the Nangunia Street entrance is an interesting cypress wood carving of Aboriginal and indigenous animals. Another interesting feature is the pond which has a bridge, some large goldfish and some fun bird sculptures. The ponds are surrounded by a metal railing fence. There is also a tunnel of vines, rows of roses, Barooga District Pioneer Memorial and a rotunda.
It is nice and shady while walking along the paths which are mostly fringed by trees. There are shaded seats scattered about the Gardens. There are mainly trees with a few garden beds and bushes.
