Barkly Gardens Dog Off Leash Area (Richmond)

Barkly Gardens, a large park which officially opened in 1867, is Richmond's only 19th century residential garden square. For dogs the gardens are divided into three zones. The northern zone has large grassy areas dotted with trees and is a dog off leash area. The middle zone is a dog on-lead area and features a playground, water tap, pavilion, shelter, toilets and an Anzac Memorial. The southern zone has a soccer / cricket ground (Alan Bain Reserve) which is surrounded by a walking track and is a dog off leash area with a bin.
