There is an entrance to the grasslands at the corner of Liberty Parade and Dougharty Road. The track to the north initially passes ugly and noisy industrial properties. After 150m the Grassland Reserve is reached which is quite open with few trees (as you would expect from a grassland).
There are tracks down to the Darebin Creek which has steep banks and lots of long grass which are a snake hazard during the warmer months There is a track beside the creek which can be followed.
