Ballam Park Dog Off Leash Area (Frankston)
The area at the southern end of the reserve has two great playgrounds and is an on-leash area. Higher up the hill is off leash and there are plenty of facilities including tables, BBQs, water tap, bins and toilets.
The following map shows the free roam areas in Ballam Park (dark brown colour is free roam area).
Dogs are prohibited from entering and/or remaining in the following areas in white on the map - Athletics Track (AT), East Oval (EO), North Oval (NO) and South Reserve (Soccer Pitch) (SP).
Dogs are allowed off lead in the areas adjacent to the Northern and Eastern boundaries of the Ballam Park Homestead (HS) between 6am to 8am only. In yellow on the map.
All dogs must be bought under effective control within 10 metres of a playground when in use, permanent BBQ or picnic area.
In the middle of the reserve is a fenced oval bordered all around with grassy areas dotted with trees. There are more ovals to the north and a fenced off Athletics Track plus other large grassy areas, some of which are dotted with shady trees. The reserve covers a huge area and bins and water taps are provided in multiple locations. The park is very popular with dog owners.
In the south east of the reserve there is a fenced agility park.
