Bailey Reserve Playground, Gardeners Road, Bentleigh East
A spectacular playground for kids who love climbing. Huge marine vessel (seems to be a cross between a ship and a submarine) with climbing holds all over the curved surfaces, big tunnel slide, rope ladders and a metal ladder leads to the upper observation desk for great views.
There is also a climbing dome, interesting panels with gears and noises, suspended swing, standard swings, beautiful see-horse and dolphin springers and stand-on spinner.
Shelter with tables, water tap and BBQ. Most of the playground is shaded by shade sails. Next to an outdoor gym and huge grassy expanse. Across the ovals is a skate park (the only one in the Glen Eira council area) and Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC).
Note: The public toilet facilities are located in the sporting pavilion in the middle of the reserve, approxinately 300m from the playground.
Access for Dogs:
The two sports grounds at the southern end of Bailey Reserve are off-leash (the playground side).
The northern end is on-leash (close to GESAC).
Dogs should be on-leash within 20m of both the playground and skate park facilities.
