Bacchus Marsh Racecourse and Recreation Reserve All-Abilities Playground, Maddingley
A huge impressive fenced all-abilities playground. The centerpiece is a play structure with two towers connected by a very high rope net bridge. The thinner tower has a series of internal triangle shaped levels which you climb up. Some of the levels can alternatively be reached using a climbing wall, pipe ladder or rope net. The bigger tower has a series of steps leading up to two tunnel slides at different heights. At the base of this tower is a rope traverse course with five different elements to conquer.
Another highlight is a large sandpit under shade sails where people have left Tonka toys to play with. There is also a water tap with a button to release water along a rocky, snaky path until it trickles into the sandpit. On the side of the sandpit is a water play table.
A separate play area has a suspended tunnel to crawl through, inverted V-shaped climbing frame and a structure with dual wave slides reached by a ladder or rope nets.
Around the edges of the playground are a large log balance beam, three in-ground trampolines, spinning disk, cup to sit in and spin around, some super cute log springers, logs on springs, dual flying fox (one disk seat, one harness seat), big cubby, line of musical instruments (xylophones and drum), swings with long chains (great for older kids to get some air time), birds nest swing and standard swings.
There are a number of shelters with tables and BBQs, water taps, unshaded tables, small trees which will grow over time and grassy little areas. Outside the playground area are tennis and netball courts and toilets.
