Avenel Golf Course
The Avenel Golf Club is on the northern edge of town and was the first club to host the Victorian Sand Green Championships, in 1975 (and recently in 2010).
Avenel Golf Course is renowned as being the driest winter course in the district, while in summer an automatic watering system nurtures green fairways. The trees lining the fairways provide homes for koalas and many kinds of native birds.
Avenel Golf Course is a level, low stress, easy walking sand greens course. A practice fairway is available.
The course is 18 holes, Par 72, ACR 71, 5994 metres. The licensed clubhouse is open on weekends, competition days and public holidays, from 12 noon until late.
Cost:
Visitors are welcome and green fees are $10.00.
