Australian Baby Hands (Mitcham)
I am Amanda Crossland and I am proud to introduce Baby Hands Whitehorse to Melbourne!
I started signing with my son Oliver (using Australian Baby Hands resources) when he was born in July 2009. It has been exciting to see Ollie begin to recognize the signs from a very young age (4-5 months) and then start signing back from 6-7 months of age. It is fantastic to see my little boy asking for "milk", "mummy", something to "eat" and a "nappy change" and such a weight off my mind to be able to know what he wants or needs, rather than playing games of deduction, eliminating one option at a time with increasing frustration!
I am so excited to introduce the first Baby Hands classes to Melbourne and share the joy that I have been able to experience first hand. The classes are fun and interactive and have been designed to ensure that children and adults can get the most out of them. The signs we learn are a mix of practical and fun signs that align with the first things that our kids learn about as they grow.
Baby Hands classes are designed for children aged 0-3 years and their parents to come and have fun! Each class starts with learning the themed signs, and then we all have fun using the signs in games, activities, songs and stories. We also talk about how to incorporate the signs into your daily routine to encourage your baby to sign them back to you more quickly.
Classes are also a great opportunity to meet new people in the area that share your interest in baby signing.
Opening Hours:
Classes are currently held in the Whitehorse area (Mitcham/Vermont) on Sundays and Mondays to ensure both mums and dads (and other carers) have the opportunity to learn to sign as a family. We can arrange private classes for you and your Mothers Groups or friends and family if these days or locations don't suit your situation.
