Atherstone Traffic School (Melton South)
Melton City Council, in partnership with LendLease, have constructed a road safety education facility, Atherstone Traffic School.
The facility provides a fun and engaging space to develop important road safety skills and gain confidence on bicycles, tricycles and scooters.
Conveniently located next to Bridge Road Children's and Community Centre, the Atherstone Traffic School consists of a variety intersections and signage to mimic the features of a real traffic experience within a more controlled environment. There are public barbeques and toilet facilities on site.
Council is currently in the process of engaging with road safety education providers to operate the Atherstone Traffic School. It's expected that the provider would work with local schools, kindergartens, childcare centres and other community organisations, to facilitate programs at the venue.
Free Public Access Period
Until 31 March, 2023 the council is opening the Atherstone Traffic School to the public between the hours of 8am - 8pm daily. Families and community groups are encouraged to use this opportunity to visit the Atherstone Traffic School.
