Aquatic Facilities
Indoor 25 metre Lap Pool
Our indoor heated pool has a maximum depth of 1.5 metres and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Lanes in the pool are used by lap swimmer, swimming lessons, aqua aerobics classes and for private hire.
Outdoor 25 metre Lap Pool
Enjoy the sunshine in the summertime and do some laps outside. The pool is open from 6:00am - 8:00pm weekdays and 8:00am to 7:00pm weekends and public holidays. Changes are made to this timetable during the winter.
Hydrotherapy Pool
The hydrotherapy pool offers many benefits to a wide range of people. The adjustable floor means that children learning to swim can still find their feet on the shallow floor, whilst hydrotherapy users can get the thorough workout from the deeper water.
Children's Water Playground
Feel like you are under the sea and join the sea creatures on our adventurous playground. With a water slide, see saw, spray jets and more the younger children will have a ball.
Spa & Sauna
Sit back and relax in our sauna or one of our two spas. Upon claiming a wrist band from reception, members or paying patrons can lose time in the most relaxing way possible. Whether it be to relieve the stress or to help out with an injury, the spa can be the perfect end to a day.
Swimming Lessons
Swimming lessons at Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre run for 48 weeks throughout the year. We offer lessons for infants, preschool children, school-age children and adults. Review:
Very reasonable prices and nice friendly feel. They are very safety conscious and young children are given a "Watch around Water" wrist band to wear. Most of the facilities are indoors (3 pools) but there is one 25m pool outside. The outside area is fairly barren and unattractive but does have some tables and an area of ground under shade sails. The best feature of the centre is the great children's tunnel water slide. It is even possible for parents to go down the slide with their children. We have been here a few times and when it is time to go home, it is always an endless parade of "Just one more go on the slide". The slide is great fun for all ages and very addictive. The family change rooms are very spacious. The cafe is quite small and there is an area near the cafe with sofas and tables. There is also a small courtyard.
Update from Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre (April 2016)
-Our outdoor pool now hosts a larger courtyard area and the outdoor area has been landscaped to accommodate the outdoor pool bathers.
-After a huge renovation, all of our studios and gym facilities were new in 2015 and the water playground has been updated.
