Open seven days a week, Ararat and Grampians Visitor Information Centre is situated on the Western Highway between Melbourne and Adelaide, Located just 40 minutes from the Grampians and surrounded by picturesque tranquil surprises and inspiring natural attractions.

Immerse yourself in the serene environment of the neighbouring Pyrenees Ranges, Mount Cole, Mount Buangor and Ararat Hills Regional Park.

Accredited though Tourism Victoria, the centre offers a range of services including detailed information on the region and it's attractions, quality publications, then browse the souvenirs and range of local produce on display.

Ararat and surrounding townships provide and abundance of diverse cultural and historical attractions, including the chilling dark side of the J-Ward Gaol, an institution that will captivate all who walk through its ghostly doors. Delve into Ararat's heritage at the Langi Morgala Museum and the Gum San Chinese Heritage Centre not to mention the Aradale Lunatic Asylum that operated for 1867 and closed in 1993, tours run every Sunday.

Learn more about the importance of the railways at the Railway Heritage Museum or amble through the beautiful Alexandra Gardens, a botanical haven with a tranquil lake, walk, barbecues an the Orchid House.
