Apex Park Playground, Arbuthnot Street, Koondrook
The playground is set in an interesting area. The fenced section has a structure in the shape of a tram and has tunnels, ladders, inclined walkways, fireman's pole, abacus, small wave slide, shop front, climbing wall and curved slide. Also a frog springer.
There is a huge shelter with two big tables and BBQs. Nearby is a big wooden sculpture of a pelican, nurse Elizabeth Rosen and metal Aboriginal shields. Across the road are toilets.
Koondrook Wharf Bridge leads down to a pontoon on the water. There is a railway goods shed. To the north is a play structure with high climbing walls , fireman's pole, hanging chain traverse, flying fox, monkey rungs and high horizontal bar. Further north is more equipment at an outdoor gym. You can hear the sounds from the sawmill.
