Anthony Beale Reserve Play Space, St Helena Road, St Helena
The highlight is a big revolving hamster / mouse wheel for humans - I think Banyule council has connected it to the grid to ensure they meet their renewable energy targets.
There is also a big stand on carousel, small slides, rope net climbing frame against a wall, two stand on spinners, little wooden stump balance trail, smallish birds nest swing, hammock and a double flying fox with a disk seat and a seat with a harness. Nearby is a half basketball court and a small junior skate area with ramp, rail and boxes.
In one corner is a weird shelter which might be a teen tube with Wi-Fi connection. It provides a chance for teenagers to get together and communicate via social media rather than talk.
There are also three unshaded tables, BBQ, water tap and there are toilets in the reserve. Fifty metres away is a wheelchair accessible sandpit which has a creek water feature with hand pump and sluice gates to control the flow of water into the sandpit.
There are two outdoor gym areas in the reserve.
