Altona Yacht Club (Seaholme)
The Altona Yacht Club is a friendly family and community oriented club but extremely competitive when it comes to our racing series.
Club racing is held on Saturday afternoons from October to May (no organised racing over Christmas period) and the club rooms are open from around 8:30am until approximately 6pm on Saturdays during the racing calendar.
The club offers unlimited free car parking, large fully grassed rigging area, safe launching and retrieving facilities, in all wind directions and almost all wind strengths, for both 'off the Beach' boats and trailerables with a safe harbour adjacent to the club.
There is ample under cover boat storage for 'off the beach' boats, a staffed canteen offering a wide variety of food and a large function room. A magnificent view of the city can be seen from the first floor observation room, which provides a complete view of the whole course area, adjacent to the race control tower.
During racing the Altona Yacht Club's race control tower is in constant radio contact with the rescue boats which are manned by qualified and experienced volunteers.
