Adventure Park Geelong is the home of Victoria's first water theme park. It has twenty rides and activities which is a combination of nine water rides, eight non-water family rides and three kids rides.

The park has change rooms, showers, parenting room, baby change facilities, food outlets, lawned picnic areas, Wi-Fi spots, free BBQ stations, undercover pavilions and marquees and cabana/sunbed hire.

The water rides are:

Tornado - Plunge a massive 7.5 story's into the eye of the storm. This mega fast and furious family funnel water ride is like nothing you've ever seen in Victoria. Hold on tight! Groups of up to four riders will climb the 24 metre tower before climbing into the raft and blasting through a serpentine in-run, through 360 degree twists and turns, gaining serious speed before the raft suddenly drops exploding into a five storey funnel. Riders will experience moments of zero gravity weightlessness, and with intense swings launching riders nearly vertical on the massive funnel walls.

Gold Rush Rapids - Ride the awe-inspiring 110 metre long Gold Rush Rapids. Hang on and race down in under 20 seconds!

Wild West Canyon - It's a pitch black dark ride within the tunnel. Ride down on the inflatable two seater raft, experience two 360 degree turns and finish with a 2 metre plunge!

Aqua Racer - Thrill seekers can experience the ultimate adrenaline rush when racing head first down the 'Six Lane Aqua Racer' at speeds of up to 40km per hour. Warning... high speeds ahead! Race your friends down this high speed water ride, over 80m in length.

Lazy River - Raft the 'River Torrent Lazy River' ride, which is Victoria's only lazy river ride on an inner tube. Hang on and go with the flow whilst your raft is propelled along the tropical style river oasis.

Bonito's Bay Waterplay - Its the ultimate kid's water zone! This Caribbean Pirate Adventure will excite the family's with non stop water play action including splash pools, slides and tipping filled buckets! Towering three stories high this state of the art aquatic playground features a host of interactive multi level hands on water attractions including waterfalls, water jets and water slides which surround Bonitos Bay. Look out for Bonito's lost secret treasure chest but beware of the giant tipping bucket - wild waterfalls overhead!

Jumping Jets Waterpark - What better way to cool off than splash around in the water parks jumping jet zone. Tucked away next to the entry to the Lazy River this water play area has three giant mushroom fountains flowing with water and up to 76 jets shooting water up continuously from the ground. A great way for the little ones to experiment with water play in a safe and secure environment then once the kiddies are comfortable - time to tackle the Tiny Tots Splash Zone.

Jumping Jets - When little swimmers are keen to start water play they can make a splash at the Jumping Jets water play area which is positioned next to the Gold Rush Rapids and Wild West Canyon water slides. This area provides endless family fun that will keep the little ones entertained for hours with two giant mushroom fountains flowing with water and a series of up to 39 water jets in total that randomly squirt water up throughout the play zone keeping everyone guessing.

Tiny Tots Splashzone - Keep the kids cool, and entertained all day at 'Tiny Tots Splash Zone', a coral reef themed water wonderland. Designed for the tiniest of tots, this shallow and safe oasis of interactive water play is every kid's dream with waterfalls, mini water slides, and spray cannons. With lots of water fun for the little ones, look out for Tommy the turtle and beware of the big splash!

The non-water family rides are:

Red Baron - The stunning family ride is a miniature plane ride giving parents and little ones alike a chance to fly their very own miniature bi-plane replica. Climb high up into the sky or dip down low to feel the speed, its up to you! Once on board this 32 seater ride, parents and children will control the planes up and down motion as the ride revolves 360 degrees!

Crazy Coaster - Australia's first permanent spinning family roller coaster. The Crazy Coaster family ride has been designed especially for children and families, it provides riders all the thrills of a larger roller coaster but on a smaller scale! Enjoy action packed turns and exciting rapid-fire drops! With an added twist, the cars will spin 360 degrees around whilst riding guaranteeing action packed excitement and screams! The Crazy Coaster is a 16 seater ride and allows a family of four to ride together in the same car.

Ferris Wheel - Board the gondolas of the spectacular 27 metre Ferris Wheel for stunning panoramic views over Adventure Park and the Bellarine Peninsula.

Wave Swinger - Victoria's Only Permanent Swinging Chair ride. This family thrill ride is best way to experience amazing theme park fun! Riders can fly soaring through the air! Reaching speeds of up to 30 kilometers per hour as the tower climbs and climbs to reach it's full height of over 12 metres in height!

Skeleton Creek Mini Golf - Who's the best golfer in your family? Grab a golf putter, pencil and your favourite coloured golf ball then make your around this 18 hole landscaped garden course with twists and turns at every hole.

Fortress Falls Mini Golf - The Fortress Falls mini golf course is the ultimate family challenge. Putt your way around the giant fortress and flowing waterfall course - but be careful when you reach hole 17 as that's where the game can be won or lost.

Shipwreck Harbour - Discover how much fun you can have on the water in one of our Pedal Boats. Race your friends or relax and cruise the lake. Adventure Parks very own lake is over 16 acres in size so theirs plenty of space to explore! Enjoy watching the local wildlife including a large bird life on the lake, you may even see our resident white Swans!

Archery Range - Be Robin Hood for the day. Test your skills, challenge your friends and see if you're skilled enough to hit the bulls eye.

The kids rides are:

Grand Carousel - Ride away on our huge 42 seater Grand Carousel, it is one of only five still operating in Australia! This classic theme park attraction, features 34 horse's all intricately decorated and 2 beautiful four seater swans.

Little Buggy Speedway - Let the race begin! The Herbie themed Italian made cars are awesome for the whole family! The Little Buggy Speedway is perfect for the those youngsters learning to drive for the first time! The two seater cars are big enough so that Mum or Dad can join in on the fun, let the driving school lessons begin!

Kids Train - A great way to put your feet up and relax whilst exploring the parks 52 acres of picturesque parkland! Tour around our 2 kilometre train track, enjoying a behind the scenes view of all that Victoria's Biggest Theme Park has to offer!

The park has an advantage that there is plenty of space and handles large crowds quite well but the aquatic rides area did feel a bit hectic and cramped since most of those rides (Six Lane Aqua Racer, Lazy River, Bonito's Bay Waterplay and Tiny Tots Splashzone) were in one corner of the park. There are also two tunnel water slides (Gold Rush Rapids and Wild West Canyon) in a separate location. The latest and greatest new water ride, the Tornado, is across the hill which does help to spread out the crowd compared to our previous visit.

In order to partially avoid the entrance queues it is advisable to buy your tickets on the internet before you arrive. The queue for pre-purchased tickets moves a lot faster than the queue to purchase tickets on the day. You can expect a big queue to have formed by the official opening time. However, if your objective for the day is to get as many rides as possible, I would suggest arriving before the official opening time, queuing for a while to get in and then heading to the most popular rides and getting in a lot of rides before the longer queues form. We arrived 15 minutes before opening time and quickly had three rides on the Tornado and three rides on the Aqua Racer without hardly any waiting.

All rides are included in the cost of entry. Children under 90cm are free and the adult entrance price applies for anyone above 120cm. All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult to gain entry. Adventure Park does not offer spectator passes and it is necessary to purchase an appropriate ticket, although there is discounted admission for Seniors (60 Years and over) and there is a discounted Disabled/Carer Admission (ID is required).

In general it was easy to work out who could go on each ride based on their height and there are not a huge amount of restrictions. Kids of all heights should be able to find plenty to do.

The most epic ride is the Tornado which is a massive funnel slide which uses four person rafts. Each raft can hold between two and four people. The initial part of the slide is quite flat and loops around, before a steep drop into the funnel where you slide high up onto the far wall and then slide across to the other wall before dropping out through a chute into a pool. It's exciting and great fun and plenty of screaming echoes across the park but not TOO scary. The four person rafts are large and cumbersome to carry up the path and steps to the top of the ride, especially for two people. You really feel like you have earned the right to come hurtling down after lugging your raft to the top. There will be a conveyor belt system to get the rafts to the top of the ride installed in the future (due to be completed for the 2018-19 season), together with another new ride beside the Tornado.

There is a good variety of water based activities. Even though a number of water slides are exciting we enjoyed the Lazy River the most. The water moves quite quickly and you can either lay back and enjoy the ride or interact with all the other people on the river. The queues can look huge but the line moves extremely quickly and the wait time was very reasonable. The two tunnel water slides (Gold Rush Rapids and Wild West Canyon) use two person rafts and if you have an odd number of people, then that spells logistical nightmares since you must have two people to ride on these rides. The Water Play Park which has three slides and a tipping bucket can be crowded but fun nevertheless. For the smaller kids, there is a separate Tiny Tots Splashzone which is quieter.

As well as the water rides, there are other interesting rides which means that you could conceivably come here and still have a great time without going on the water rides. For the family there is Wave Swinger (sit in a suspended seat and move around in a circle), Ferris Wheel (which is quite high and gives good views of the park), Archery (the kids really liked this), Shipwreck Harbour (peddelo boats) - the only things wrecked after this activity were Dad's legs from all the peddling, mini golf (two courses), Kids Train (train ride in a vehicle with carriages around the park) and a Grand Carousel (less than 140 cm).

Since our last visit the family area has been significantly improved. The Little Buggy Speedway (for those less than 140cm, but adults can ride with small children) has new Italian made cars and everyone knows that Italian cars go faster than any other cars. There is a Crazy Coaster so that smaller kids can get the feel of rollercoaster terror before graduating to ever bigger and scarier rollercoasters when they get older and a fun Red Baron where you can fly planes and control their height. Parents and children can do these rides together.

There are two excellent mini golf courses. The Fortress Falls course was a bit more interesting than the Skeleton Creek course but both had a lot of interesting elements.

The food and beverage outlets were concentrated around two locations on opposite sides of the lake. Depending on what you want to eat, have a look at the map for a suitable outlet and head there. On the north side of the lake, near Bonito's Bay Waterplay area, there is Boardwalk Cafe (serves cold drinks, coffee, sandwiches, wraps, hot dogs, baked potatoes and donuts) and Sharky's Kitchen (fish, chips, nuggets, calamari). On the southern side, near Gold Rush Rapids, there is Burger Barn (serves beef, chicken or vegetarian burgers), Munchies Cafe (coffee, muffins, sandwiches, blended drinks), The Hungry Shack (sandwiches, salads, baked potatoes, hot dogs, cold and frozen beverages) and Ice Cream Parlour.

You are more than welcome to bring food and drinks in to the park but note that alcohol and glass are not permitted in the park.

There are a number of free BBQ's available on a first come, first served communal basis. These BBQs can not be reserved. There are plenty of shaded tabled scattered about the park.

Lockers, which are located at a number of locations, are available for hire at a cost of $12.00 per day. The locker hire machines accept coins, notes and cards.
