Activities in Melbourne Central Business District (CBD)
One of the comments made in response to our survey was "I was thinking of taking my 3 year old into the city on a train (as I have a couple of hours to kill while my car is at the mechanics) and I was looking for cheap things to keep him amused in the city. We have been to the Aquarium (good but expensive) and museum. It didn't really offer much of what is in the city".
We like dissatisfied users of Melbourne Playgrounds as much as an itch in a place which you can't quite reach. Therefore we want to increase the number and range of activities on our site which are located in the CBD.
The first problem is to find where they are hiding on our site. The easiest way to pry them loose is to do a search by Suburb and select Melbourne. A search in other surrounding suburbs such as Docklands is also time well spent.
This will list:
- Artplay Playground at Birrarung Marr
- Australian Centre for the Moving Image
- Australian Racing Museum and Hall Of Fame
- City Circle Tram
- Ian Potter Foundation Children's Garden
- Immigration Museum
- Melbourne Aquarium
- Melbourne CBD Hardrock
- Melbourne CBD Street Art
- Melbourne City Baths
- Melbourne City Bikes
- Melbourne City Tourist Shuttle
- National Gallery of Victoria
- Old Melbourne Gaol
- Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne
- Skate Park - City (Riverslide)
- State Library of Victoria
If you know of any more activities please let us know. You might be able to help other parents and one exasperated mother in particular.
