Academy of Dance Victoria (Box Hill North)

The Academy provides quality dance training in a friendly and positive environment that encourages a love of dance and music. Children are encouraged to explore this love of dance through classes that promote creativity, discipline and the joy of dance.

Styles include:
Classical Ballet (RAD & ACB) Classical ballet is at the core of all dance forms, it is a beautiful and highly technical art. Academy of Dance Victoria teaches the internationally renowned Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet syllabus. Ballet students are required to take 2 RAD classes a week from Grade 1 at School age onwards. Class is once a week for prep aged students. We also offer a classical extension program via our Classical Academy.

Jazz Jazz class with current music and a focus on commercial dance as seen in live performances, world tours, and television. These classes also incorporate leaps, turns and flexibility training with an emphasis on learning choreography and developing style.

Tap (ATOD Syllabus) Tap dance develops children's sense of rhythm and musicality as well as being great fun! Classes incorporate both old style and current style - from musical theatre styled tap to upbeat street tap. Our Tap students also have the opportunity to take tap exams under the Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD).

Contrmporary Originally based on ballet technique our contemporary classes focus on developing a strong contemporary style and understanding of all areas of floor work and choreography.

Hip Hop Hip Hop classes are a fast dynamic class in line with the current commercial hip hop styles and age appropriate music.

Musical Theatre (ATOD based) For all the theatre stars in the making! Students learn to Act, Sing and Dance all in the one class. Includes vocal warm ups, group vocal work, monologues script work, dance routines.

Acrobatics (Acrobatic Arts Syllabus) A very popular class for all ages and levels. Students begin working on their basic tumbling skills and then work their way up to more advanced tumbling including aerial skills.

Circus Skills A class for students of all experience levels! Students begin work on lots of different circus skills including acrobatics skills, juggling skills and some aerial skills on Lyra (aerial hoop) and silks. So if you fancy yourself a cirque du soleil fan, or just want to bust some impressive moves at the next school dance, this class is for you.
