A.B. Shaw Reserve Dog Off Leash Area (Altona Meadows)
On the west side is Laverton Park which is an on leash area. Running along Hall Avenue are three ovals and a playground. One of the ovals is fenced and the other two ovals are unfenced. The ovals and around the playground are all on leash areas while the fairly limited area around the ovals is designated off leash. The only off leash area of significance is between and behind the western and middle ovals where there is an area dotted with trees.
At the playground, located towards the eastern side, is a shelter with tables, BBQs, toilets, bins and water tap with bowl.
Note from Council - Changes which have been made include the implementation of dog on leash areas on sportsgrounds and within the playground to reduce conflict between the various users. All other open space areas will remain off-leash for dog owners to let their dogs run. The trial will be in place until March 2018 and will be reviewed following its completion.
