1001 Steps at Bayview Park (Narre Warren)
The 1001 Steps at Bayview Park offers a new fitness experience. The location is inspired by the the 1000 Steps in Ferntree Gully but might be an improvement since it has one more step!
Built with exactly 1001 steps, the track at Bayview Park has been designed to suit most fitness levels and abilities.
At its highest point the hill has an elevation of 165 metres. Views extend towards Western Port Bay to the South East and the You Yangs to the South West. The city can also be seen and if you are lucky you may even see a small section of the bay.
The former Narre Warren tip was transformed into the landscaped track.
Access for Dogs:
Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash at all times.
Review:
There are a number of different sets of steps with a lack of signage meaning it is quite difficult to understand the path to take to do 1001 steps. There is also no sign to indicate you have reached the high point of the climb. There are extensive views and it's a good exercise area if you are not obsessed with doing exactly 1001 steps. The overall experience is totally lacking compared with the 1000 Steps Kokoda Track Memorial Walk.
There is a water tap near the carpark but no toilets.
